Moving home: a good opportunity to de-clutter and give to others

In Switzerland, moving times are often based on the dates of rental termination deadlines and the usual quarterly deadlines.

If you plan to move to another commune or canton, you'll have to leave your home as you found it, i.e. empty, and you will not necessarily want to take everything with you.

Organising the boxes and diving deep into your cupboards with a bit of advance notice will help you avoid panicking at the last minute. Things you never thought you no longer had will resurface: a lampshade, a kitchen utensil, a puzzle, a pair of trousers...

If so, it means that you haven't used them for a long time and probably don't need them anymore. On the other hand, someone not far from you may need a lampshade to finish off their living room, the kitchen utensil that still works well, a jigsaw puzzle to keep them company in the winter evenings, and those trousers, which will be great in the garden. 

Give them away rather than sell them: you don't want these things anyway. On https://larecupvs.ch, you can give away what you no longer need, and look for what you need: "wanted" ads also work well.

Let's ask ourselves the right questions: do I really need this? Why buy if someone has already got one that they no longer want? Where will all these objects we buy and accumulate, end up if we throw them away?

Let's act together and locally to reduce our waste by reusing as much as possible
